05/02/14 1 Corinthians 5:1-21

     As our Philippines mission comes to a close I can’t help but reflect back on our journey. Every trip presents its own valley’s and peaks, but one thing remains the same any where I go. People are people. We were all created by the God most high and through His will there is purpose for all. What is your journey and where is He leading you? What hindrances are at your trail head or are you still looking for answers? To my brothers and sisters in the faith, live for Him alone. Seek him first in all you do (Matthew 6:33) and you will be on a journey like none other. To those of you who don’t understand this or have yet been redeemed by the blood of the lamb, call unto the Lord and find His redeeming grace (Romans 10:13). He is faithful, good, and He is also the righteous judge so live for Him alone. May God bless y’all.

Corinthians 5:1-21

This is my Father’s world, and to my listening ears
All nature sings, and round me rings the music of the spheres.
This is my Father’s world: I rest me in the thought
Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas;
His hand the wonders wrought.

This is my Father’s world, the birds their carols raise,
The morning light, the lily white, declare their Maker’s praise.
This is my Father’s world: He shines in all that’s fair;
In the rustling grass I hear Him pass;
He speaks to me everywhere.

This is my Father’s world. O let me ne’er forget
That though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the ruler yet.
This is my Father’s world: the battle is not done:
Jesus Who died shall be satisfied,
And earth and Heav’n be one.

This is my Father’s world, dreaming, I see His face.
I ope my eyes, and in glad surprise cry, “The Lord is in this place.”
This is my Father’s world, from the shining courts above,
The Beloved One, His Only Son,
Came—a pledge of deathless love.

This is my Father’s world, should my heart be ever sad?
The lord is King—let the heavens ring. God reigns—let the earth be glad.
This is my Father’s world. Now closer to Heaven bound,
For dear to God is the earth Christ trod.
No place but is holy ground.

This is my Father’s world. I walk a desert lone.
In a bush ablaze to my wondering gaze God makes His glory known.
This is my Father’s world, a wanderer I may roam
Whate’er my lot, it matters not,
My heart is still at home.

05/02/14 Luke 17:10

I and the members of VBC in Baguio City Philippines wanted to thank you and the medical team for coming to minister to the folk in Baguio City. This is the first time we have had a medical team come to our church to help in the way that you all did. What made it a real blessing was the number of professions of faith we had that day. We had 127 professions of faith in Christ. What a blessing to see peoples physical needs met by these dear folk from America, but we also rejoice even more in the decisions for Christ that were made that day. We all at VBC and others would like to THANK YOU for you sacrificial labors in our church. Your presence and help had opened doors to people who normally would never step into a Baptist Church. May the Lord bless you ten fold for your medical efforts around the world.

A note from Gary and Marjean Horn:

          My wife and I have been on about a dozen mission trips so far. They’re all different of 20140501_092132course but they are the same in that the people we meet are so great! We hear a lot of life’s stories that would be unimaginable in the states.

         Mission trips for us are mostly about meeting people and serving God’s church. It gives a different perspective for what’s important in our lives and gives us am opportunity to use our profession to help bring people in the local churches to hear the gospel. We receive more than we give.
